Photoelectric work function
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008852
The minimum energy required to remove an electron from a solid surface into a vacuum, overcoming the attractive forces holding it within the material. This energy is typically expressed in electronvolts (eV). It is a characteristic property of a material and depends on its surface condition and crystallographic orientation.
