Phase correction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008732

A computational procedure applied to Fourier transform spectra, especially in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), to correct for frequency-dependent phase errors. These errors, introduced during signal acquisition and processing, distort the spectral lineshapes by mixing absorptive and dispersive components. The correction process involves adjusting a zero-order (frequency-independent) and a first-order (frequency-dependent) phase constant until all peaks in the spectrum have a pure absorption lineshape.
