Exchange transfusion

A medical procedure involving the removal of a patient's blood and its replacement with donor blood. This technique is used to treat severe conditions such as hemolytic disease of the newborn, severe anemia, or poisoning, by removing harmful substances or abnormal blood components. The procedure typically involves removing small aliquots of blood and replacing them with equal volumes of donor blood.
