Hemoperfusion

A medical procedure used to remove toxic substances from the blood by passing it over an adsorbent material outside the body. The patient's blood is circulated through a device containing activated charcoal or resin beads, which bind to the toxins. This technique is employed in cases of severe poisoning or drug overdose when hemodialysis is ineffective.
