Hemodialysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005195
A medical procedure that removes waste products, such as urea and creatinine, and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys are unable to do so. Blood is circulated outside the body through a dialyzer, which contains a semipermeable membrane that filters the blood. This process is a common treatment for kidney failure.
