Nephrotoxic

Describing a substance or agent that is poisonous or damaging to the kidneys. Exposure to nephrotoxic compounds can lead to acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease, impairing the organ's ability to filter waste products from the blood. Many drugs, heavy metals, and industrial chemicals exhibit nephrotoxic properties.
