Acute-to-chronic toxicity ratio

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000211

The quotient obtained by dividing the acute toxicity value by the chronic toxicity value for a specific substance and organism. This ratio provides an indication of the potential for a substance to cause chronic effects at concentrations below those causing acute effects. A ratio greater than one suggests that chronic exposure may lead to adverse outcomes at lower concentrations than acute exposure.
