Final chronic value
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004428
An estimate of the concentration of a substance that falls at the 5th percentile of the chronic toxicity values for the aquatic genera tested, used as the long-term component of water quality criteria. When too few chronic tests exist, it is obtained instead by dividing the final acute value by a final acute-chronic ratio. In US water quality criteria it is the basis of the criterion continuous concentration, whereas half the final acute value gives the criterion maximum concentration.
