Toxicity test
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012168
An experimental study designed to determine the degree and nature of the adverse effects of a substance on a test organism. These tests follow specific protocols to assess effects from acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term) exposure under controlled laboratory conditions. The results are used to establish dose-response relationships and to estimate safe levels of exposure for humans or other species.
