Toxicity value
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012169
A numerical factor that regulators use to estimate risk from an exposure, such as a reference dose or reference concentration for threshold effects, or a slope factor or unit risk that links dose to the probability of cancer. It is derived from a dose-response relationship, usually after applying uncertainty factors to a no-observed-adverse-effect level or benchmark dose. Multiplying a slope factor by an exposure estimate gives an estimate of lifetime cancer risk.
