Toxicity equivalent
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012165
A calculated value representing the overall toxicity of a mixture of related toxic compounds, expressed as if it were a single dose of a reference compound. This value is obtained by multiplying the concentration of each congener by its respective toxicity equivalency factor (TEF) and summing the results. It provides a standardized measure for comparing the potential hazard of complex mixtures.
