Rem

A unit of dose equivalent, representing the biological effect of ionizing radiation on human tissue. It is calculated by multiplying the absorbed dose in rads by a quality factor specific to the type of radiation. One rem is equivalent to 0.01 sievert (Sv) in the International System of Units.
