Gray
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005018
The SI unit of absorbed dose of ionizing radiation, defined as the absorption of one joule of radiation energy per kilogram of matter. Represented by the symbol Gy, it quantifies the energy deposited in a material by radiation. One gray is equivalent to 100 rad, an older, non-SI unit of absorbed dose.
