Absorbed dose

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000063

The amount of energy deposited per unit mass of a material by ionizing radiation. It quantifies the energy transferred from radiation to matter, leading to physical and chemical changes within the material. The SI unit for absorbed dose is the gray (Gy), which corresponds to one joule of energy absorbed per kilogram of mass.
