Gravitational field-flow fractionation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005017
A separation technique within the field-flow fractionation family that uses a gravitational field perpendicular to the flow of the mobile phase to separate particles or macromolecules. The gravitational force drives larger or denser particles towards the accumulation wall, while smaller or less dense particles remain closer to the channel center. This method is effective for separating particles based on their mass or density, typically in the micrometer size range.
