Brownian field-flow fractionation mode
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001516
A separation technique in field-flow fractionation where the applied field induces a force on the analytes, causing them to migrate towards one wall of the channel. The opposing force of Brownian motion creates a concentration gradient perpendicular to the flow. This mode is particularly effective for separating macromolecules and nanoparticles based on their diffusion coefficients.
