Thermal field-flow fractionation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011942

A field-flow fractionation technique that separates macromolecules or particles based on their thermal diffusion coefficients. A temperature gradient is applied perpendicular to the flow direction, causing components to migrate towards the colder wall at different rates. This differential migration leads to separation as components are carried along by the parabolic flow profile.
