Flow field-flow fractionation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004496

A separation technique within the field-flow fractionation family that uses a parabolic flow profile across a thin channel to separate particles or macromolecules based on their diffusion coefficients. A perpendicular flow, or cross-flow, is applied to drive components towards one wall. This method is effective for separating complex mixtures of colloids and polymers.
