Sedimentation field-flow fractionation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010652
A field-flow fractionation technique that uses a centrifugal force field applied perpendicular to the flow of a sample in a thin channel to separate particles based on their size and density. Larger or denser particles are driven closer to the accumulation wall, experiencing greater retention. This method is effective for separating macromolecules and colloidal particles ranging from approximately 10 nm to 100 µm.
