Field-flow fractionation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004413

A separation technique that fractionates macromolecules and particles based on their differential movement in a laminar flow field, under the influence of an external field applied perpendicular to the flow. The external field can be thermal, gravitational, electrical, or centrifugal. This method is used for characterizing polymers, proteins, and nanoparticles without a stationary phase.
