Elution mode
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003822
The way the mobile phase is introduced into the rotating coil in high-speed counter-current chromatography, set by which liquid phase, upper or lower, is pumped in and from which end, head or tail, giving four possible combinations. Only two are recommended: the lower phase pumped from head to tail, or the upper phase pumped from tail to head. In liquid chromatography the same term also names isocratic, gradient and step elution.
