Reference toxicity test

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010085

A standardized toxicity assay conducted using a reference toxicant to evaluate the health and sensitivity of the test organisms and the performance of the laboratory's testing procedures. This test provides a measure of the baseline response of the biological system, allowing for the interpretation of results from tests with unknown samples. The results are often expressed as an EC50 or LC50 value for the reference toxicant.
