Chronic toxicity test

An experimental procedure designed to evaluate the adverse effects of a substance following continuous or repeated exposure over a substantial portion of the lifespan of an organism. These tests aim to identify long-term health consequences, including carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, and organ damage. Such studies are typically conducted for 6 months to 2 years in rodents.
