Reproductive toxicity test

An experimental procedure designed to evaluate the potential of a chemical or agent to cause adverse effects on the reproductive system or the development of offspring. These tests typically involve exposing animals to the substance and observing effects on fertility, gestation, parturition, and the health of the progeny. Standardized protocols exist for these tests, such as those from the OECD.
