Reference sample group
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010080
A group of subjects selected to represent a defined population, from which biological samples are collected to establish a reference interval for a particular laboratory test. The individuals in this group are chosen based on well-defined criteria, such as age, sex, and health status, to reflect the characteristics of the population for which the test results will be interpreted. The statistical distribution of results from this group determines the upper and lower limits of the reference interval.
