Static-renewal test
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011337
A toxicity testing method where test organisms are exposed to a toxicant in a static solution that is periodically replaced with fresh solution. This renewal prevents the depletion of the toxicant or the accumulation of metabolic waste products. The frequency of renewal depends on the stability of the test substance and the sensitivity of the organisms.
