Static extraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011325
A one-step batch process in which the extracting solvent reaches a steady composition before the two layers are split, so no fresh solvent flows through the sample during the contact time. When the analytes start in solution, it is the same as liquid-liquid extraction, usually with shaking to speed equilibration. It contrasts with dynamic extraction, where fresh solvent passes continuously through the sample.
