Leaching

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006495

The process of extracting soluble components from a solid material by dissolving them in a liquid solvent. This involves the percolation of a solvent through a solid matrix, carrying away the soluble constituents. Leaching is a common technique in analytical chemistry for sample preparation and for environmental analysis to assess contaminant mobility.
