Microbial leaching
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013282
A biotechnological process that uses microorganisms to extract metals from ores or waste materials. The microbes catalyze oxidation or reduction reactions, converting insoluble metal compounds into soluble forms that can be recovered. This method is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional chemical leaching for metals like copper and gold.
