Pressurized hot-water extraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009413
An extraction technique that uses water at elevated temperatures and pressures to extract analytes from a solid matrix. The high temperature enhances solubility and mass transfer, while the pressure keeps the water in a liquid state. This method is considered environmentally friendly due to its use of water as a solvent.
