Elutriate test
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003827
A laboratory procedure that assesses the potential for contaminants to be released from solid materials, such as sediments or waste, into an aqueous phase. This test involves mixing the solid sample with water under specific conditions to simulate environmental leaching processes. The resulting liquid extract, or elutriate, is then analyzed for the concentration of target substances.
