Sturm test

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011504

A standardized laboratory test used to assess the ultimate biodegradability of organic chemicals in an aqueous environment under aerobic conditions. The test measures the amount of carbon dioxide evolved from the mineralization of the test substance by microorganisms over a specified period. It is a common method for evaluating the environmental persistence of chemicals, often conducted over 28 days.
