Readily biodegradable
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009988
A classification for chemicals that pass stringent screening tests for ultimate aerobic biodegradation, such as the OECD 301 series, and are therefore expected to mineralize rapidly in most aerobic environments. The usual pass levels are 60 percent of the theoretical oxygen demand or carbon dioxide yield, or 70 percent removal of dissolved organic carbon, reached within 28 days.
