Biodegradable polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001260

A polymeric material that undergoes degradation due to the action of biological agents such as microorganisms, enzymes, or other natural processes. This degradation leads to a substantial change in the polymer's chemical structure and physical properties. The process typically results in the formation of water, carbon dioxide, methane, biomass, or inorganic salts.
