Elutriate

A liquid extract obtained by washing or separating a solid material, such as sediment or soil, with a solvent. This process is used to isolate soluble components or fine particles from a bulk solid. The resulting liquid contains dissolved substances or suspended fine particulates that can then be analyzed.
