Flow-through system
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004505
An experimental setup in ecotoxicology where test organisms are continuously exposed to a fresh supply of test solution, with the solution being constantly renewed and flowing through the exposure chambers. This system maintains stable concentrations of the test substance and removes metabolic waste products, providing more realistic exposure conditions than static systems. It is commonly used for long-term toxicity studies.
