Developmental reference dose

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003103

A reference dose derived for developmental effects, estimating the level of a single maternal exposure during development that is likely to be without appreciable risk of adverse developmental outcomes in the offspring. Unlike a chronic reference dose, it is not set for lifetime exposure, because the effect arises from a short exposure during a sensitive period. It is expressed in milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day.
