No observed adverse effect level
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007977
The highest dose or exposure level of a substance at which no statistically or biologically adverse effects are observed in a study population. This level is determined from experimental toxicology studies, often in animals, and is used as a reference point in risk assessment. It serves as a basis for establishing safe exposure limits for humans.
