No-acceptable-daily-intake-allocated
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007978
A designation used by expert committees on food additives for a substance for which no acceptable daily intake can be set, either because the available data are insufficient, the identity and purity specifications are inadequate, or the data show that it is dangerous and ought not to be used. It does not by itself mean the substance is unsafe, since in the first two cases the evidence is simply too limited. It differs from an ADI not specified, which signals that no numerical limit is needed.
