Regulatory dose
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010124
An exposure dose that a person is expected to receive when a substance is present in the environment at exactly the level a regulation permits, such as the daily intake from drinking water holding a pollutant at its legal maximum concentration. The term is used by the US EPA and is calculated from the legal concentration limit, an assumed intake rate and body weight, so it differs from health-based benchmarks such as the reference dose.
