Pseudo-acceptable daily intake
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009626
An intake value for a substance, treated as safe for daily lifelong exposure, that is derived by dividing the lowest dose with an observed effect by a factor of 1000 for non-carcinogenic endpoints. It is used when the data do not support a no-observed-adverse-effect level, so the larger factor stands in for the missing information. It is a cruder estimate than a standard acceptable daily intake, which usually applies a factor of 100 to a no-effect level.
