Temporary acceptable daily intake
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011861
A provisional acceptable daily intake set when the available data support safety for the short period needed to collect more evidence but not for a whole lifetime. It carries a larger than usual safety factor and an expiry date, by which the missing toxicological data must be supplied so that a full ADI can be set or the value withdrawn. The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives has issued such values for additives awaiting further data.
