Acceptable residue level

The maximum concentration of a pesticide or veterinary drug residue legally permitted in or on food or feed commodities. This level is established to protect consumer health, considering the acceptable daily intake and dietary exposure. Regulatory bodies such as the Codex Alimentarius Commission set these international standards.
