Maximum residue limit

The maximum concentration of a pesticide residue legally permitted in or on food or feed products. This limit is established to protect consumer health and is based on good agricultural practices and toxicological evaluations. Regulatory bodies, such as the European Food Safety Authority, set these limits for agricultural commodities.
