Pesticide residue

The small amount of pesticide or its breakdown products that remains on or in food, feed, or environmental matrices after application. These residues can persist for varying durations depending on the chemical properties of the pesticide and environmental conditions. Regulatory bodies establish maximum residue limits (MRLs) to protect consumer health.
