Pseudo rate constant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009625
A rate constant determined under conditions where the concentration of one or more reactants is kept constant, typically by being present in large excess. This simplifies the rate law, allowing the reaction to appear as a lower order than its true molecularity. For example, a second-order reaction can become pseudo-first-order if one reactant is in vast excess.
