Rate law

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009935

An equation that expresses the rate of a chemical reaction as a function of the concentrations of the reactants and sometimes products or catalysts. It is determined experimentally and provides insight into the reaction mechanism. The exponents in the rate law define the order of the reaction with respect to each reactant.
