Scaling law
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010543
A mathematical relationship that describes how a physical quantity changes with respect to another quantity, often expressed as a power law. In polymer science, scaling laws are used to relate macroscopic properties, such as viscosity or diffusion coefficients, to molecular parameters like molecular weight or chain length. These laws provide insights into the universal behavior of polymer systems.
