Allometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000430

The study of the relationship between body size and the shape, anatomy, physiology, and behavior of organisms. It quantifies how the dimensions and proportions of an organism's parts change as its overall size increases or decreases. This field often uses mathematical models, such as power laws, to describe these scaling relationships.
