Allometric growth
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000428
The differential growth rate of different parts of an organism, leading to changes in body proportions as the organism develops. This phenomenon describes how the size of one organ or body part changes disproportionately compared to the overall body size or another body part. For example, human head size grows at a slower rate than the rest of the body after birth.
